4. Tramon Williams, Cornerback

The Green Bay Packers hope that bringing in a former cornerback will work out better the second time through. When the Packers brought back Davon House, the hope was he could step in and contribute to a secondary that was pitiful in 2016. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. House didn’t have a bad 2016, it just could have been a lot better.

Despite this, the Packers signed Tramon Williams, who was always a better cornerback that House. Williams played with the Green and Gold from 2007-14 before leaving in the offseason for Cleveland. After two disappointing seasons there, Williams spent 2017 with the Arizona Cardinals.

In Arizona, Williams had one of the best seasons of his career, per Pro Football Focus.

Williams looks to help revamp the Packers secondary. For years now, the unit has ranked as one of the worst in the NFL. Not only will Williams bring an immediate upgrade to the cornerback position, he will be a role model for the younger guys in the locker room. Guys like Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson will greatly benefit from Williams’ advice.

Just being around the 11-year veteran will pay dividends in the long run for the rookies and other young guys on defense. He will be the voice the defense needs, especially with Morgan Burnett now in Pittsburgh.
