Green Bay Packers: 5 Most important players in 2018 sans Aaron Rodgers
1. Davante Adams, Wide Receiver
Now that Jordy Nelson is gone, Davante Adams is the primary target for Aaron Rodgers. He has waited for his time to be “the man.” Now, Adams will be the No. 1 receiving option in the Green Bay Packers offense.
We got a small preview of what the offense will be like with Adams as the primary option in 2017. With Nelson struggling to get targets from Brett Hundley, Adams was focused on a lot in the passing game. He was able to thrive in the spot he was put into. It didn’t take long for Adams to get back to work in the first preseason game either. He had an amazing catch from Hundley on the first drive of the game last Thursday.
Adams will be the most important part of the Packers in 2018, besides Rodgers. He will finally be able to prove that he is one of the best wide receivers in the league. Now he doesn’t have to share the ball with Nelson.
He does have to share it with Jimmy Graham, but sharing the ball with a tight end is much different than sharing it with a receiver who had a very close relationship with his No. 1 receiver. All in all, a big year is in store for Adams. He looks to get the respect he finally deserves (a theme for many on the Packers roster).
