The return of Randy Gregory?

Much has been made about the return of Randy Gregory to Cowboys’ practice. Upon his return he has shown an ability to rush the passer. His play has made an impression on both the coaches and the owners. In fact, owner Jerry Jones has come out in support of Gregory stating that he will contribute Week 1 of the regular season against the Carolina Panthers. This is an excellent sign for a player who is coming off three violations of the policy on substances of abuse and two separate suspensions.

Gregory is the feel-good story of Cowboys’ camp. He is fighting the odds to put his personal life back together. Not only is she succeeding, so far, but the Cowboys are rallying behind him. Gregory is now starting to show signs of being able to reward the Cowboys faith on the field.

This week, Gregory may see his first action of the 2018 NFL preseason. Should he play, Gregory will most likely play the role of pass rush specialist. He has earned that position by having an outstanding camp so far rushing the passer.

Come Saturday, will the Cowboys put Gregory out of the field for his first action? They should seriously consider it should they want him to contribute week one of the regular season.
