5. Chicago Bears

When the Chicago Bears selected Leonard Floyd with the ninth-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the hope was that he would give them a dominant player on the edge. Coming out of Georgia, Floyd seemingly had all the tools that would allow him to develop into that player. Throughout his first two NFL seasons, he’s shown flashes of that, but he’s lacked the most crucial thing an NFL player needs to make an impact: health.

Floyd’s injury woes have kept him off the field (or banged up on the field) far too often, though he has been able to accrue 11.5 sacks in 22 games played already. Still, the Bears are relatively thin at the position outside of Floyd with Sam Acho or Aaron Lynch likely to rush on the opposite side of him. The point is, there is a clear fit for Khalil Mack in Chicago in terms of what he’d provide.

Mack would provide immediate stability in terms of the Bears pass rush, something that they’ve been sorely lacking in recent years. As stated, he’s simply a force on every single play. Even better is that he might even be more effective in Chicago with a better overall defense behind him than what he’s worked with in Oakland.

Furthermore, if Floyd were to be able to stay healthy, he and the 27-year old Mack would have the chance to form a havoc-wreaking duo that would immediately put the Bears in the conversation for having one of the best pass-rushes in the NFL.
