The New York Giants face the Detroit Lions on Friday, Aug. 17 in Week 2 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Both the New York Giants and Detroit Lions are coming off losses in their respective Week One match-ups, but have set their sights on a victory in Week Two of the 2018 NFL Preseason. Sure, we can say the final scores don’t matter all that much, but a win would go a long way for both squads heading into the latter part of August.

Okay, I’m sure you can tell I’m, somewhat, kidding. Nevertheless, a win would be encouraging for Lions first-year head coach, Matt Patricia. Detroit has been knocking on the door of making the postseason since Matthew Stafford was drafted out of the University of Georgia, but the team has lacked the coaching to take them “over the top”.

Who knows, maybe Patricia is finally the right man to take this Lions franchise to the next level? If he does indeed become that coach, it’ll largely be attributed to the work-ethic and principles he instills in his players throughout the months of July and August each year. Needless to say, these games are important whether people want to believe it or not.

Another thing to note in this battle between New York and Detroit is whether or not Giants rookie running back, Saquon Barkley, will suit up or not. He suffered an apparent leg strain in New York’s Week One game against the Browns and is therefore questionable for this Friday’s game. if I had to guess, I’d say Barkley sits this one out against the Lions.
