Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks: NFL Preseason Week 3 Bold predictions
2. Seahawks rack up six sacks
The Vikings have looked good so far this offseason. They may have lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, but it was more a product of declining talent down the offensive depth chart and overwhelming defensive talent on the Jaguars’ end.
Although I can’t say the same for the Seahawks, they won’t have much trouble getting after Minnesota’s quarterbacks. They gave up four sacks on Saturday against Jacksonville, and will watch that number increase in Week 3 thanks to an intriguing group of pass rushers in Seattle’s arsenal.
Players like Rasheem Green, Jerome Ivie and Shaquem Griffin should spend all day hunting Kirk Cousins, Trevor Siemian and Kyle Sloter. Although it won’t always end in a sack, the Vikings’ lack of offensive line talent could allow for big numbers on the stat sheet. That’s why I’m predicting the Seahawks manage at least six quarterback takedowns before the day is over.
Will that keep the Minnesota offense at bay? Probably not. The running game has looked good thus far, and Dalvin Cook may play on Friday. Either way, it’ll at least allow Seattle to breathe a sigh of relief with Dion Jordan out and Frank Clark just barely returning.
