5. Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers

We start with the longest shot and will work our way up. Williams may not seem likely, but this kid displayed an abundance of talent at Clemson. His rookie campaign in 2017 was essentially a lost season due to injury. He was hurt right out of the gate last summer and never really found his footing in the offense. It was considered a victory that he even managed to play last year.

After missing camp, preseason and the first month and a half of the season, Williams only managed 11 receptions for 95 yards. It’s quite possible I’m being a bit too ambitious with this one and he may need another season to get the next tier of wideouts, but I wanted to open up with a bold prediction and a guy I absolutely love to target in my dynasty leagues.

Clemson just pumps out ultra-talented receivers and Williams is no exception. He’s a 6-4 athlete who can move and is a talented route runner. His catch radius and ability to go up and get the ball is outstanding. This could be the perfect combination of when talent meets situation. Make no mistake, Philip Rivers is statistically an elite quarterback and there are targets to go around in Los Angeles.

Keenan Allen can only catch so many passes and hasn’t exactly been the picture of health. Hunter Henry was the big target and he’s out for the season, while the other options at tight end are poor at best. The other receivers outside of Allen like Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin have talent, but are far from stars. Williams is poised for a breakout season. I’ll compare him to Martavis Bryant with a better head on his shoulders, both on and off the field.
