When people talk about the Vikings, everyone seems to focus on the defense. Sure, it’s a unit filled with Pro Bowl-caliber talent that finished the 2017 campaign ranked first in yards allowed and points allowed per game. Believe it or not, though, Minnesota is more than just their defense.
It’s time we gave praise where it’s warranted. The Vikings offense is extremely underrated, which seems odd considering it finished 11th in the league a season ago. Now with a shiny new quarterback, the return of Cook and the potential breakout of Laquon Treadwell, the stage is being set for this offense to light it up in 2018.
The only real concern is the offensive line. Injuries have ravaged an already-shaky front five, leaving Cousins with suspect protection heading into Week 1. Luckily for him and the rest of the offense, I’m confident offensive coordinator John DeFilippo will have a plan to counteract that.
Minnesota’s offense was already outstanding in 2017. Deploying the list of names above gives the Vikings more than enough firepower to make a Super Bowl run.
