3. Nick Foles was bad and it is time to panic

Yes, it is only Week 1. Yes, Nick Foles did win Super Bowl MVP last season and played lights out in the playoffs when he needed to. However, he has also looked horrible in the preseason and may have played one of the worst games of his career in Week 1 against Atlanta.

Foles threw the ball 34 times, only completing 19 of those passes and also threw an interception. The INT is up for debate, but in my opinion, it was Foles’ fault for throwing his receiver into a bad situation, which caused the ball to be knocked up and picked off. To make his performance even worse, Foles completed 19 passes, but only for 117 yards, or 3.4 yards per completion.

That is just horrendous. And to be complexly honest, Foles looked horrendous. It may be a hot take to panic, but it is already time to panic. Philly is not going to be able to ride their defense every game, so Foles is going to need to improve, or the Eagles are not going to keep winning without Carson Wentz.

Luckily for the Eagles, Wentz will return at some point this season, and they need him to as soon as possible. Their ceiling with Foles — even if he won them the Super Bowl last season — is far more limited than it is with Wentz at the helm.
