Despite suffering a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Philip Rivers was a fantasy star in Week 1. It wasn’t enough to muster the win, but we certainly can’t chalk that up to the veteran quarterback’s shortcomings on Sunday.

Instead, mental mistakes and special teams hiccups are to blame. Rivers did everything he could to keep the Chargers in the game, tossing the pigskin for 424 yards and three touchdowns. Even at 36 years of age, there’s no denying that Los Angeles’ gunslinger still has it.

A matchup with the Buffalo Bills opens the door for Rivers to put up another monstrous performance. The Bills were utterly embarrassed in Week 1, giving up 47 points to the Baltimore Ravens. Although the stats weren’t spectacular for Joe Flacco, it’s Joe Flacco. You can rest easy knowing Rivers will take full advantage of every opportunity the Bills offer him.

Especially with Josh Allen likely to start at quarterback, the Chargers could dominate the time of possession. Although there’s the concern that a blowout could allow Los Angeles to turn to the run game, I’m confident Rivers will do enough damage early on to make him a worthy buy for your FanDuel lineup.
