Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Raise your hand if you had Ryan Fitzpatrick reeling off for the game he had? Now put your hands down, liars. 417 yards and four touchdowns later, Fitzpatrick has the league on notice after completely destroying what was thought to be one of the league’s better defenses. Fitzmagic has a minimum of two games left before Jameis Winston returns from suspension, including matchups against the Eagles and Steelers at home.

There’s no telling what’s in store for this Tampa Bay squad in the coming weeks, but if Fitzpatrick can replicate half of his success from Week 1, it’s worth the pickup for your bench at the very minimum.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Speaking of four-touchdown performances, Patrick Mahomes takes the coveted second-spot in this waiver-wire piece, although he should-be on a team already if your league knew what’s good for them. Mahomes walked into his first start with questions surrounding how he would play against a well put-together Chargers defense.

His response? Ripping Los Angeles to pieces and utilizing all of his pieces to the puzzle. Mahomes displayed the arm strength, precision, and mobility to become a dangerous quarterback in this league, and will look to take on a shaky Steelers defense in week two. Big numbers should be in the forecast in Pittsburgh.
