4. Rookie running backs will dismantle a struggling Raiders D

Week 1 was an impressive performance from both rookies in the Denver backfield. Royce Freeman took his 15 carries for 71 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft at No. 71 overall. The Broncos signed him because of a dire need at running back.

The 6-0, 229-pound back played his college football in Oregon, averaging 5.9 yards per carry in his collegiate career. The Broncos lost starter C.J. Anderson to the Carolina Panthers this offseason. With that, Freeman was expected to be the dominant back for the Broncos after a strong showing in the preseason. However, he got some help too.

The signing of the local, undrafted free agent Phillip Lindsay brought lightning to Freeman’s thunder. The Broncos watched in Week 1 as Lindsay accumulated 102 yards from scrimmage and notched a receiving touchdown. This one-two punch may be one of the youngest and most dangerous duos in the league.

The combination of these rookies will be nearly impossible for the Raiders to defend on Sunday. This matchup will prove how both Freeman and Lindsay can impact game plans. Both backs will have monster showings on Sunday. The Broncos will rush for more than 200+ yards this weekend against a penetrable Raiders defense.
