Jamaal Williams, Running Back

Even if Rodgers is going on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers run game needs to step up. Jamaal Williams was the starter last week. It’s likely he gets the nod in a couple of days. He has the most pressure to perform well in the backfield against a very stingy Vikings defense.

Aside from a first down carry early in the game, Williams was fairly quiet in the season opener. He finished with 15 carries for 47 yards. Though Rodgers will play on Sunday, it will be in a limited capacity. He won’t be able to do everything he is normally able to do. That means Williams will have to step up and take pressure off of Rodgers.

From finding the right holes or even catching passes out of the backfield, Williams will be a very vital piece of the offense this week. Aaron Jones returns from suspension next week against the Redskins. So if Williams has another performance similar to last Sunday, his share of carries will most likely dwindle.

Williams not only needs to take the pressure off of whoever is the quarterback, but he is basically playing for how many snaps he will get for the foreseeable future.
