New York Jets: 3 Standouts from Week 2 vs. Dolphins
2. Quincy Enunwa
Coming into the season, many were crowning Robby Anderson as the best receiver on the team. Some even said the Jets can’t get rid of him after yet another altercation with authorities in Florida, because he’s their No. 1 guy.
While Robby Anderson is a good deep threat, it’s clear who the No. 1 guy in New York is. After a seven catch, 92 yard day, Quincy Enunwa is clearly the best receiver the Jets have. Sure, Sam Darnold didn’t see Anderson open a couple of times, but the line wasn’t giving him time to throw.
Enunwa is a much more versatile receiver and a more polished route runner. So, he can be relied upon in more ways than Anderson at this point. Therefore, he’s the best guy in the receiving core for Gang Green.
Enunwa is quickly showing what this team missed in 2017. Enunwa gives the Jets a target for all three levels, and he’s a guy teams are going to have to start keying in on. The Darnold-Enunwa connection is part of the reason the Jets were in the game for as long as they were. Without him, this game gets out of hand.
