2018 NFL Power Rankings: Risk on Mahomes paying off for Chiefs
By Dan Parzych
32. Buffalo Bills (32)
One week after being one of the biggest disappointments from Week 1, the Buffalo Bills didn’t exactly do anything special to give them that much of a chance this past weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers, although they should be hopeful about Josh Allen. After realizing once again that Nathan Peterman is far from the answer under center, Sean McDermott made the right choice going with the rookie quarterback this time around when taking on the Chargers.
No, Allen didn’t do enough to lead Buffalo to their first win of the season, but he did at least show a little bit of potential for the offense to work with moving forward. Like most rookies, the quicker Allen sees experience as a rookie, the better position he’s going to be to reach the level Buffalo needs him to be at.
Making the playoffs last year was quite the surprise for the Bills, and even though it’s tough to make assumptions after two weeks, the chances of that happening again seem slim since this team seems to have taken a major step back. The two interceptions by Allen were certainly frustrating, but the rookie will hopefully learn from his mistakes now that his first career start is out of the way to take off a little pressure.
