Danny Trevathan has a tremendous game

The Chicago Bears’ linebacker unit can end up being one of the best in the NFL. In this game, Leonard Floyd recorded 3 tackles and a fumble recovery. Mack had 4.5 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. Rookie Roquan Smith had seven tackles.

The winner for the game, however, was Danny Trevathan. He recorded seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. He was all over the field and had his hands all over this victory. With Mack doing his thing and attracting all the attention, the other linebackers were free to do what makes them good. Trevathan, however, had the best game.

Trevathan missed 11 games in his two seasons in Chicago. Spending more time at the trainer’s room than on the field, one forgets how good Trevathan really is. Well, he seems pretty healthy now and he’s reminding us of that. He’s on pace to record 104 tackles, which would be his most since 2015 with the Denver Broncos.

In addition to his play on the field, Trevathan is helping Smith. Having that duo playing well makes this a scary defense to deal with. As Smith gets accustomed to the NFL game, he and Trevathan will wreak havoc on opposing offenses. Hopefully, we get a healthy Trevathan so he continues to have more great games like the one he had against the Seahawks.
