2. DeMarcus Lawrence

DeMarcus Lawrence finished the game with two tackles, along with one sack, two tackles for loss and two QB hits in the win against the New York Giants. What was great for the defensive end is the Giants had to focus on more than just him as the Cowboys totaled six sacks as a team, nine tackles for loss, three passes defensed and eight QB hits.

Being this is a contract year for the defensive end, Lawrence will be giving maybe just a little extra. Looking back at last year, he’s getting closer to being the player he was last season who totaled 14.5 sacks and 58 tackles in 2017.

Lawrence is a difference maker for the Cowboys defense, and if he’s not out there, they are not the same team. What is great about Lawrence is his ability to rush the quarterback, and that alone not only made him tough for the Giants offensive line to stop on Sunday Night Football, but it made those around him dangerous too as Kavon Frazier, Damien Wilson, Taco Charlton, Antwaun Woods and Tyrone Crawford all had sacks as well.

The Cowboys would be smart to sign Lawrence to a long-term deal this offseason, as his one-year deal signed this past March for $17.143 million will most likely continue to get higher if he continues to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
