WR, Antonio Callaway

It is certainly no surprise to see Antonio Callaway on this list following the departure of Josh Gordon. Callaway is now the biggest deep threat on the roster, and a threat he is.

A fourth round selection in this year’s draft, Callaway still has much to learn, as well as much to prove. Touted as a first-round talent by many draft analysts, his off field concerns dropped his stock significantly. Having entered the league with a diluted test at the combine and following it up with a marijuana possession charge, he remains a wildcard as far as dependability goes.

I like Callaway a great deal and certainly hope he does not follow the all-too-familiar career path of Gordon. He has lit up the highlight reels when on the field and as long as he only lights up things on the field, his ceiling is phenomenal.

He provides speed, quickness and as mentioned, significant deep play capabilities. Fans of the orange and brown are in dire need of a dependable playmaker to replace to hopes of dependability that Gordon has teased fans with for far too long. They may have one in Callaway.

I have also been a long-time supporter of Josh Gordon and I hope he thrives in New England, but the page has been turned and Callaway is the next man up to wow fans. I find it hard to put too much faith into a player with significant issues in the past, but I am all in on Antonio Callaway, for now. He most certainly is a player to watch for the Cleveland Browns.
