5. Tavon Austin makes it two in a row

There were scoffs when the Cowboys acquired Tavon Austin from the Los Angeles Rams — which is understandable. The fact is Austin is a bust. The Rams picked him at No. 8 overall out of West Virginia and he just never lived up to that expectation. That’s why they gave him away for a mere sixth-round pick.

However, getting him for a sixth-rounder means he’s not a bust for Dallas. Their investment is minimal, unlike the Rams. That means for them, they have a potential big-play guy and all it cost was a selection that normally gets you a practice squad player or special teams ace.

In Week 2, we saw why they took that flier. Austin opened the scoring up with a 64-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott as he ran past Janoris Jenkins — and was aided by a slip from said cornerback.

After that, he made two other plays — a 15-yard run and a 15-yard catch in the fourth for a first down. Our first bold prediction has Austin again showing up for the Boys and finding a way into the end zone.

The good news for him is there are a few ways he can do this as he can be used as a runner, a receiver, and as a return man. Against Seattle, he uses one of his many ways to touch the ball to take it to the house, making Dallas’ investment look even better.
