Winner: Christian McCaffrey

One of the big knocks on the Carolina Panthers for selecting running back Christian McCaffrey with the eighth-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft was that he couldn’t be an every-down back. And through his rookie year, that concern persisted, but the Panthers maintained he could be. Against the Bengals in Week 3, he showed that he can, at least for one week. The former Stanford star went off with 28 carries for 184 yards on the day, doing it all for the Carolina offense against a defense that’s no slouch at all.

Winner: Los Angeles Rams

Many people were ready to crown the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl LIII champions after two weeks. There was no denying how impressive those victories were, but wins over the Rams and Cardinals aren’t exactly the most impressive things we’ve ever seen. However, Sean McVay’s team proved they were for real on Sunday as they took on a tough Chargers team and ran wild over them to move to 3-0. They may not be champs yet, but they are certainly legitimate contenders.

Loser: The Oakland Raiders, again

It might seem like it’s getting old dogging on the Oakland Raiders at this point, but they keep making it so easily. Jon Gruden’s young tenure (the second time around) with the Silver and Black has gone every bit as horribly as it possibly could. The latest chapter featured another early-game lead that the Raiders blew and looked pretty hapless late in the game trying to stay in it. This team seems completely lost in every sense.

Winner: Adrian Peterson

After a strong Week 1 showing, the Washington Redskins didn’t get much out of veteran running back Adrian Peterson last week. However, in a n upset win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, the game-script was one that really played more to All Day’s strength. In the end, he capitalized with a big day, carrying the ball 19 times for 120 yards and two scores. He may not be an every-week threat, but he’s still got it, without a doubt.
