NFL Quarterback Power Rankings, Week 4: Baker Mayfield arrives
By Randy Gurzi
32. C.J. Beathard, San Francisco 49ers (NR)
The San Francisco 49ers are in a lot of trouble. Jimmy Garoppolo was in a game late despite the fact they weren’t going to win it. And unfortunately, their franchise player suffered a torn ACL in the loss. Losing him for the season is a terrible blow as he’s been the sole reason they’ve been in games since his arrival.
San Francisco still has a lot of holes on both sides of the ball. Still, they were a preseason favorite for many simply because Jimmy G gave them hope as a passer. This could be a tough loss for them, even worse than the loss to K.C. that dropped them to 1-2 on the year.
31. Josh Rosen, Arizona Cardinals (31)
Sam Bradford is not going to start any longer for the Arizona Cardinals as Josh Rosen is taking over. Will Rosen give them a better chance at winning? Does Josh Rosen care? We may not know the answers to question No.1, but Rosen likely doesn’t really care what happened. And if he does, he won’t show it.

Rosen has all the talent, but he has a Jay Cutler vibe to him where he shrugs everything off — including a game-sealing interception in his first NFL appearance. As for Bradford, he’s just not that good this season and it was past time to move on.
30. Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans (30)
Marcus Mariota came in for an injured Blaine Gabbert. Who was filling in for an injured Marcus Mariota. That’s right, the former No. 2 overall pick is hurt again and had to be called upon in emergency duty. He did enough to get the win, but the quarterback situation in Tennessee is pretty bleak at the moment.
29. Mitch Trubisky, Chicago Bears (27)
In 2017, the Chicago Bears took Mitchell Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes. That’s not looking too smart right now. Sure, the Bears are 2-1 and they nearly made it to 3-0 if they could have beat the Packers in Week 1 — in what was a winnable game. However, they’ve gotten to this record in spite of Trubisky, not because of him.
Sunday was another below-average outing for him where he had 220 yards on 24-of-35 passing with no touchdowns and a pick. They need to start seeing more out of him soon, or the word bust may start getting floated.
