FanDuel NFL Lineup: Optimal Week 4 picks for Sunday games

QB: Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns, $6,900

I’ll admit this is a risky one. Going with Baker Mayfield in his first NFL start is a huge gamble. However, if what we saw from him in his first action is any indicator, we could be seeing some huge numbers from the rookie quarterback in the very near future.

It helps his case that he’s matched up against the Oakland Raiders in this one. They’ve been terrible at slowing the pass this season, largely as a result of their nearly non-existent pass rush. Since the departure of Khalil Mack, it’s been tough sledding trying to get after opposing quarterbacks for Oakland’s defense.

Realistically, though, I like this play simply because of Mayfield himself. What he showed in Week 3 was a rare feel for the game, at least relative to his age and experience. The young gunslinger stepped in for Tyrod Taylor and took over the game, leading the Browns to their first victory in over a year and half.

The future looks bright in Cleveland with Mayfield in the driver’s seat. In his first start, I’m expecting big things from the rookie as he asserts himself as a talent worth taking seriously. The matchup with Oakland is just the icing on the cake.
