Seattle Seahawks: 3 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Cardinals
By Samuel Teets
The secondary will feast on Rosen
Rosen will be making his first career NFL start on Sunday. The UCLA product did see some time in the team’s last game, but he only got to throw seven passes. He completed four of those attempts for just 36 yards and he managed to throw an interception in there too. Now he’ll have a tough matchup against the Seahawks defensive backs.

The Seahawks actually have the eighth best pass defense in the league, despite some of their young and inexperienced defensive backs. The Seahawks have managed to generate seven interceptions this season, which is tied for the league high. Now Rosen will have to contend with the turnover generating machine in his first start.
It’s natural for rookie to struggle in their first games and often they take a while to settle down or get in a rhythm. Some even take a full season, like Jared Goff. This is frankly an out of the frying pan and into the fire situation for Rosen. When he drops back to throw, he’ll likely make a ton of short, high percentage passes. It wouldn’t be smart for him to challenge the secondary or put the ball anywhere near Earl Thomas, who had two interceptions last week.
As much as writers love to speculate on if Thomas will be traded, he won’t be gone before Sunday. The All-Pro safety is tied for the league lead in interceptions and will be looking for an opportunity to introduce himself to the Cardinals rookie on Sunday. If I were Rosen, I’d be very nervous about putting the ball up against Seattle.
