Minnesota Vikings: 3 Players who belong on the trade block
WR Laquon Treadwell
It’s been three years, and Laquon Treadwell is still up to his same old tricks. Despite catching a touchdown in Week 2 and playing a larger role in the Minnesota offense, he still hasn’t managed to assert himself as a reliable weapon for Kirk Cousins.
Now some may try to convince you that Treadwell isn’t as bad as most believe. However, they’d be very wrong in that assertion. Through four games, he has four drops and several miscues. When the pressure is on, he seems to become less and less reliable. When Cousins throws his way, I cringe at the possibility of a missed opportunity.
I get it — the Vikings aren’t ready to throw in the towel on their 2016 first-round pick. John DeFilippo was desperately hoping a new regime and scheme could bring out the best in the former top receiver prospect. However, after a few games, it’s looking like that isn’t the case.
It’s time to stop wasting time on this experiment and deem it a failure. Find a receiver-needy team willing to swap a late-round pick for him, and call it a day. The Vikings have too many other capable pass catchers who deserve snaps. Why continue wasting them on a disappointing talent like Treadwell?
Come on Rick Spielman. Put out some feelers, find the best deal possible and send Treadwell packing. We’ve had enough of this charade.
