Penalties, Penalties, Penalties

When is it going to end with the penalties? Every week, the Green Bay Packers make stupid mistakes, one after anoter. Most of the time they are unnecessary. That starts with the number of penalties the Packers record week in and week out. This week it was 12, last week it was five, and the week, previous the Packers had 11.

The 12 penalties cost the team 112 yards too. It’s simple mistakes that need to be fixed. Sloppy technique, a lack of awareness, and bad discipline can all be attributed to the numerous penalties that have been committed.

Green Bay is the third most penalized team in the NFL right now. Of those penalties, 11 were during the pre-snap. False starts, illegal shifts, and offsides are all examples of those pre-snap penalties. Those are the easiest to fix but that hasn’t been the case so far. The 43 penalties recorded by the Packers have gone for 413 total yards, the second worst in the league.

Teams that are disciplined are the same teams who make the playoffs. It cannot be stressed enough that the penalties need to be limited. It has been a problem for a long time now. However, with the struggles the Packers currently have, the penalties have become more magnified.
