32. San Francisco 49ers (30)

They actually made a run and had a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter that could have tied the game against the Cardinals, but the San Francisco 49ers still dropped their fourth game by a score of 28-18. They continue to struggle on offense without Jimmy Garoppolo under center — following his torn ACL.

C.J. Beathard did rack up plenty of yards on the day, but much of that was as they desperately tried to get back into the game. He finished with 349 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions and two lost fumbles on the day.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan has had his work cut out for him this season. The Niners don’t have a runner that defenses really worry about — although Alfred Morris did rack up 61 yards off 18 carries and Matt Breida had 56 on eight rushes. Teams are willing to give that up though since it hasn’t led to wins.

On defense, they also have issues. Their secondary isn’t effective and they could have given up a lot more in Week 5 had the Cardinals not dropped as many passes as they did. This season is quickly getting away from them, but the staff likely gets a pass with Garoppolo out.
