1. Wherever the Eagles go, Carson Wentz will be the one to take them there

Not having a legit No. 1 running back and having a terrible offensive line — those are two big problems for a quarterback, but Wentz showed it does not matter because he is one of the best players in the NFL.  I wrote that Wentz has been better in 2018  than he was in 2017, and he showed that last night.

His first touchdown pass of the night highlighted just why he is so special. His ability to evade the rush is the best in the NFL, and he isn’t even a year removed from a torn ACL. The way he is able to move around the pocket and make plays when there is nothing is what will lead the Eagles this season.

If their offensive line doesn’t get fixed, I am worried he will get injured again. But for now, Wentz has been making sure he doesn’t by evading defenders.

The former North Dakota State product ended the night 26-of-36 for 278 yards and three scores. On the season, Wentz has completed 68.4 percent of his passes for 1,192 yards, eight touchdowns, only one interception and a quarterback rating of 104.7.

There was a ton of panic in Philly heading into this week, but Wentz was able to calm it down a little by showing that the Eagles will go as far as he will take them. And who knows how far that will be!
