2. Adrian Peterson will be held to under 50 yards rushing

At the beginning of the season, this wouldn’t have been much of a prediction, but this year in five games — the Redskins had a bye in Week 4 — Adrian Peterson has rushed for 339 yards on 77 carries, averaging 4.4 yards per carry with the Redskins.

Last weekend against the Carolina Panthers, Peterson rushed for 97 yards on 17 carries with a 5.7 yard per carry average. That won’t happen this weekend for Peterson as the defense of the Cowboys will hold the veteran running back to under 50 yards rushing like the Indianapolis Colts did in Week 2 and the New Orleans Saints did in Week 5, though against the Saints he did only have four carries.

Peterson is an all-time great and future Hall of Famer, but if the Cowboys can do this weekend what they did to the Jacksonville Jaguars defense last weekend as they held T.J. Yeldon to 41 yards on eight carries.

Seeing Peterson defy time with the Redskins has been surprising, but the momentum is with the defense of the Cowboys in this game, and if they do anything in Week 7, it will be forcing Alex Smith to beat them and stop the rushing attack of the Redskins.
