Defensive Player of the Year: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Safety

This is going to be a controversial pick. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has been ridiculed in the past for his lack of effort on the field. He’s missed tackles and has played poorly a lot. Earlier this season, he said that he has a feeling 2018 is his last season in Green Bay. Even though he has played with little effort at some times in his career, he is still a valuable asset to the revamped Packers defense.

Clinton-Dix has been the best Packer on defense in 2018, though, and here’s why.

First, he’s always been a ball hawk and has continued that into his fourth NFL season. He is tied for the lead in interceptions this year. He has forced turnovers at crucial points in games his whole career. Clinton-Dix has also been one of the better tacklers on the despite many questioning his skills.

He’s also one of the more vocal players on the team. After Tramon Williams and Davon House left the squad after his rookie season, Clinton-Dix had to fill in as the leader of the secondary along with fellow safety Morgan Burnett.

Clinton-Dix has been a constant through the many changes in the Packers defense. One problem many players have is staying healthy. He has yet to miss a game in the NFL.

Hopefully, the Packers front office takes notice of what Clinton-Dix has done and decide to resign him. They let Casey Heyward and Micah Hyde walk in previous years. They would make a huge mistake letting a third valuable defensive starter leave.
