NFL Week 7: One overreaction about every team
Buffalo Bills: Time for a coaching change
Last season Sean McDermott and his Buffalo Bills made the playoffs with a 9-7 record. This season, however, they look like a completely different team. They drafted quarterback Josh Allen with no intentions of starting him. However, they didn’t have a veteran they could trust, which forced Allen into action early in the year. Now, an injury to the rookie gives the ball to Derek Anderson (in favor over Nathan Peterman).
Peterman, the same quarterback who McDermott and everyone else watched throw five interceptions in one game. He completed just 44 percent of his passes and tossed four interceptions in his only game this season.
While their defense is playing their hearts out, it’s to no avail. The Bills need to cut bait with McDermott while Allen is still young.
Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey is the most dynamic weapon Newton’s ever had
The Carolina Panthers took a loss last week against the Washington Redskins. However, it doesn’t negate Christian McCaffrey’s value to the Panthers offense. Last season the Panthers didn’t give McCaffrey the ball as a runner consistently. This season under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, things have changed. Turner uses McCaffrey as more than a receiver out of the backfield. The Panthers are 3-2 now, largely as a result of their new-look offense.
McCaffrey is responsible for 394 rushing yards, which is good enough for 13th so far in the season. He’s on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards, but tha’st not all. McCaffrey is also on pace to catch over 100 passes for more than 700 yards. Cam Newton relies on McCaffrey more than any other Panthers player. It’s not hard to see why with how he’s producing.
