3. WR Will Fuller

There was plenty of good news and unfortunately a little bad news when it came to the talented wide receiver of the Houston Texans, who enjoyed a big night in the team’s victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins.

Teammate Deshaun Watson threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns in the 42-23 victory and the former Notre Dame standout accounted for more than half (124) of those yards via five receptions. The duo connected for a 73-yard score late in the third quarter after the Fins had narrowed the gap to 21-17.

This season, Fuller has now totaled 32 receptions for 503 yards and four touchdowns. The 21st overall pick is coming off an injury-shortened second season in which he was limited to just 10 games but still caught 28 passes for 423 yards and seven scores.

In the fourth quarter on Thursday night, the third-year wideout went down after trying to catch a pass and the initial prognosis didn’t look good (via John McClain of the Houston Chronicle). “It looks like Texans WR Will Fuller suffered a torn ACL. He’ll have an MRI Friday to confirm. What a blow to the offense.”

Head coach Bill O’Brien and the team will find out more soon enough. In any case, it’s an unfortunate set of circumstances for the young performer as well as the AFC South leaders.
