3. RB Josh Adams

The undrafted rookie free agent was the Philadelphia Eagles’ top ball-carrier against the Jaguars. But the former Golden Domer almost committed a costly turnover in the fourth quarter and with his team protecting a six-point lead. In any case, Doug Pederson’s club managed to rush for 133 yards on 28 carries and Josh Adams was the busiest of the three running backs that got at least one carry on Sunday.

There would be nine carries for 61 yards for the one-time Notre Dame product. That included a run of 21 yards, tying for the longest play for the Eagles on the ground this season. Entering this contest, the one-time member of the practice squad had totaled just 11 carries for 46 yards. Adams showed a lot of power and determination against the Jacksonville defense. While he wasn’t really a factor when it came to the passing game, he did catch one pass for six yards in the club’s six-point win.

This is a Philadelphia Eagles’ team that entered the week just 21st in the league in rushing offense – quite a falloff for a club that was third in the NFL in yards per game on the ground in 2017. Not having Jay Ajayi the rest of the season certainly hurts. But the rookie runner answered the bell this weekend.
