Chance Warmack, Guard, Philadelphia Eagles

The Chiefs have come through the past few weeks ailing along their offensive line. And, while Mahomes’ talent can cover up an offense’s holes or miscues, he took some rough hits against the Broncos on Sunday.

Head coach Andy Reid has been very good at replacing starting lineman with reserves and masking the weakness with specific game planning and play calling, but he may have met his match this week with the injury to Cam Erving to conclude Sunday’s contest.

Comments from Reid after the game suggested that Erving should be fine, but with spot starters currently holding down the center and right guard positions, the Chiefs should put a priority on shoring up some needed depth along the interior offensive line.

Eagles guard Chance Warmack has been a mainstay along the bench this season. This is not necessarily a knock on Warmack and more of a compliment towards the offensive line that the Eagles have, a unit that is considered one of the best in the NFL.

Warmack has been active for only three games this season, recording only one snap. With his contract set to expire after this season, the 2013 first-round selection could bring some reinforcement to a Kansas City offensive line that certainly could use some as they push towards the playoffs.

It also does not hurt that Warmack plays for a team led by former Reid disciple Doug Pederson.
