Los Angeles Rams: Jared Goff, players to watch vs. Saints in Week 9

3. Aaron Donald

The first player is a relatively obvious one, but important nonetheless. The Saints have one of the toughest O-lines in the game. They’ve been great at protecting Brees, getting holes for Kamara and Ingram and allowing Brees extra time to make big plays.

The Rams can’t let the Saints have even a little bit of time. Brees knows how to take advantage so be sure to watch Aaron Donald. Donald was a nightmare for Rodgers and I see him doing the same thing against Brees. Hopefully, he doesn’t wait until the second half to make an impact, though.

To ensure the Rams don’t fall behind, Donald needs to pressure Brees to make those quick throws. The pressure got to him against the Vikings where he threw an interception and a touchdown. The Saints O-line is good but the Vikings proved they can be picked apart. Even with Andrus Peat back, Donald will continue to dominate.

Last week’s comeback against the Packers proved that. When under pressure, Donald delivers. Currently, Donald is on track to have the best season of his career. A great game against the Saints will cement that idea. If he keeps playing at such a high level, he’ll end up as the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
