New Orleans Saints: 3 Bold predictions for Week 10 vs. Bengals
2. Tre’Quan Smith has a breakout game
With the Saints focusing so heavily on the run game, their passing game has fallen to the side. That was until last week when Michael Thomas went off against the Rams. He finished the game with over 200 yards and a touchdown. Add in his homage to Joe Horn, and Thomas was unstoppable.

Thomas has been Brees’ go-to guy since joining the team. However, let’s not forget about Tre’Quan Smith. Last week, Smith finally got the third touchdown after snagging two against Washington. Since Thomas had such a huge game against the Rams, I predict that Smith will be next and have another breakout game as he did against Washington.
Even though Smith is a rookie, he’s already finding his place in the offense. He might not be Brees’ No. 1 or 2 guy yet, but he’s getting there. With Ted Ginn Jr. out, he has a chance to step up and show off as Thomas has. Smith has a rare opportunity as the Saints aren’t utilizing Meredith as we assumed, either.
The two main competitors for Smith is Kamara and Watson. Both have more experience than Smith so Smith needs to prove himself. Hopefully this week in practice, Brees and Smith will solidify their connection and he’ll have a big game against the Bengals.
