Is there any way to hit the reset button on the Jacksonville Jaguars 2018 season?

The 2018 season has been a nightmare for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Remember how good it was to defeat New England in Week 2? In the eight weeks since, though, fans have to be wondering, is there any way to reset this season back to Week 3 and start over?

The latest loss to Indianapolis is another set back to a once promising season. The injuries have massively accumulated each week to the point that the current Jaguars are relatively strangers to the fans. Jacksonville lost yet another starting lineman for the season with a knee injury.

Brandon Linder joins the growing list of Jaguars on the injured reserve (IR) list. The addition of Linder makes the number of players on IR 14. Most of all, eight of them are/were important contributors to the team.

Apparently the frustration of a losing 3-6 record is beginning to wear on the team. Jalen Ramsey sent out an unusual tweet that Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on, saying the following:

"The Jaguars now occupy last place in the AFC South, all by themselves. And it may not be a place where cornerback Jalen Ramsey wants to be. “When I’m gone from here, y’all gone miss me,” Ramsey tweeted on Monday morning. “I ain’t even trippin lol.”"

Losing is not fun. Extended periods of losing are miserable, especially when you thought a trip to the Super Bowl was highly plausible. The Jaguars were so awfully close to defeating Indianapolis, or at least going into overtime.

Can you pin the blame of the 29-26 loss on any one player? Indianapolis put up 29 first half points on the Jaguars’ vaunted defense. Cornerback A.J. Bouye did not play due to injury, which may explain the lapses in covering Indy receivers.

Is Rashad Greene’s fumble the reason Jacksonville lost in a rather abrupt manner? In fairness to Greene, he has been on and off the roster throughout the season. Really, why was he on the field in such a critical situation?

As a matter of opinion, the Jaguars did not address some positions in the offseason. Running back comes to mind immediately. Perhaps the analytics department wanted to try the moneyball approach. It did not account for injuries that can occur each game.

September was so much fun in section 223. October brought the misery that faded all the hope of a Lombardi Trophy and downtown parade. Can we just hit the reset button and restore the factory settings like on a stereo system?
