20. Jackson torches Giants with monster game

Prior to the trade deadline, rumors were beginning to heat up over DeSean Jackson’s interest in playing for a different team, and it’s easy to understand why when looking at how much of a disappointment the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been over the last two seasons. The original plan with Jackson was supposed to help the Buccaneers make the leap in the NFC to become a legitimate contender since he was considered a serious deep threat, and while that has been the case at times, it’s kind of gone to waste for the most part.

Just look at where Tampa Bay stands at the most in the NFC South with a 3-6 record, and it’s no wonder Jackson was trying to work his way out of the picture by requesting a trade. Then again, just because Jackson may be unhappy with his situation with the Buccaneers doesn’t mean he still can’t help his stock in case things change in the future.

On Sunday, Jackson will face a familiar team in the New York Giants, as the speedster has quite a history with the team he used to see twice a year from his playing days with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins. Maybe unlike last weekend in which they scored just three points, Jackson and the Buccaneers will manage to put together a few trips into the end zone to help the team possibly earn their fourth win of the year.
