19. Rosen tosses 3+ touchdowns for first time

Since the Sam Bradford experiment quickly became a bust, the Arizona Cardinals made the easy decision to go with rookie Josh Rosen for the rest of the way in 2018 with the hope that his early NFL experience will pay off in the long run. After losing Carson Palmer to retirement, the Cardinals were in a difficult position during the offseason since they believed the team was in position to win now, but obviously Bradford was far from the answer.

Like most rookies, Rosen’s first year under center hasn’t been always smooth, and it’s clear he still has plenty of areas in need of improvement before Arizona sees the quarterback they need for the future. Turnovers have certainly been a major issue for Rosen over the last couple of games, but the Cardinals hope a favorable matchup against a struggling defense in the Oakland Raiders could result in the rookie’s best game to date.

Rosen’s second win over the San Francisco 49ers at the end of October was the only time he managed to throw for multiple touchdowns in a single game, which really isn’t surprising when looking at the struggles of Arizona in general. Against the Raiders, Rosen hopefully finds himself in the perfect position to have the breakout game the Cardinals have been waiting for.
