Round 1: Devin White, LB, LSU

This decision came down to defensive tackle Quinnen Williams from Alabama, and the eventual pick, Devin White. White was chosen over Williams due to linebacker likely being the bigger need for the Browns by the time 2018 is over. Williams is a stud player, and looks like a man amongst boys for Alabama, but White could be a can’t miss talent for the Browns here.

A former high school running back, White’s instincts are phenomenal already for someone who’s only been playing the position in college. White has the burst to get to the ball, he hits like a hammer, and he’s only going to get better in the future.

The Browns should certainly be taking interest in White for 2019, considering the rapidly declining play of Jamie Collins. Following his massive contract from Cleveland, White’s play has been less than stellar, especially in the effort department. White would be a tremendous, younger replacement for Collins should the Browns choose to wheel him, deal him, or cut him.

At the end of the day, Devin White is a blue-chip linebacker prospect, and a pick that could pay dividends for the Cleveland Browns. If White is the Browns’ real first-round pick, the Dawg Pound could be in for a treat.
