3. Marshon Lattimore shuts down Julio Jones

The New Orleans Saints had one of the best draft classes in 2017. With the likes of Vonn Bell and Alvin Kamara, it’s an excellent company. Their first-round selection was cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Despite a few questions about maturity and injury history, Lattimore has proven himself. He might not be a top-five cornerback yet, but he’s on his way.

Each week, Lattimore seems to get even better. Last week against the Eagles, he made a huge play and intercepted Carson Wentz. The Eagles were already defeated at that point but it was the nail in the coffin. Lattimore was known for racking up interceptions at Ohio State and he’s continued that trend into his professional career.

Against the Falcons, I see Lattimore going toe-to-toe with Julio Jones. Last year, he struggled a bit but he’s more experienced and has gone up against equally talented players. Not only will he go toe-to-toe with him but he’ll shut him down, too. I’ll be shocked if Lattimore lets him find the end zone and he’s going to be ready at every opportunity to break up a pass or nab an interception.

Lattimore is one of the best young corners in the game and it’s time for him to get his due. Shutting down one of the best receivers in the league in Jones will go a long well in helping him do just that.
