3. Colt McCoy

Granted, every week a quarterback is a must-watch type of player for each offense, but this weekend it is a little different for the Washington Redskins because McCoy is making his first start of the season as he replaces the injured Alex Smith. McCoy isn’t just making his first start of the year, but he’s going to be the Redskins starter from here on out as Smith is out for the remainder of the season with a broken right leg.

McCoy has played well against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in the past, but this year the Redskins are in first place for a reason, and now it is up to McCoy to keep things moving along. He’s stuck around in the NFL as a backup for a reason too, meaning he still has a skill set that makes him a capable NFL quarterback when needed.

The Cowboys can’t take McCoy lightly in this game, and with the Cowboys defense not having David Irving or Sean Lee available in this game due to injures, McCoy will have things slightly easier.

McCoy played against the Houston Texans after Smith went down with his injury and built a stat line of 6-for-12 for 54 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. All I’m saying is don’t be surprised if McCoy takes advantage of playing against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving like he done in the past.
