The Philadelphia Eagles host Washington on Monday Night in Week 13. If they can’t pull out a victor, than the 2018 season is all but over.

The Philadelphia Eagles are hosting the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 13. This matchup will be just another must-win game for the defending champions if they’re going to have a chance at making the playoffs.

Currently, the Eagles are sitting at 5-6, just one game behind both the Redskins and Dallas Cowboys at the top of the NFC East standings. If the Eagles fail to win this game, their chances at winning the division are essentially over. A 5-7 record and a two-game deficit behind the Redskins will be tough to make up.

The Eagles still have to play the Rams and Texans, and the way the Eagles look on the field they’ll be lucky to get one win out of those games. This week’s game against Washington looks to be the easiest game they have left on the schedule.

They’ll be facing a Redskins team who will be relying on their backup quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy hasn’t won a game as a starter since 2014. Last week in his first start in four years, the Cowboys were able to get in McCoy’s face and cause him to struggle. He was sacked three times and he also threw three interceptions. The Eagles will need to hit McCoy early and often to shut down the Redskins offense.

The last time the Eagles played a home game in primetime was just three weeks ago against the Cowboys. That was one of the most disappointing games of the season as the Eagles were 4-4 and looked to be on their way to taking a grasp of the NFC East. Instead, they lost 27-20 in a game that many thought the Eagles would win easily.

Washington has a chance to do the same thing the Cowboys did to the Eagles on Monday night. If the Eagles lose and fall to 5-7 it’s time to think towards 2019. But if the Eagles win and move to 6-6, then they still have a shot.
