5. Kareem Jackson, Houston Texans

Once considered an elite corner, Kareem Jackson was given a rather hefty contract in 2015. He signed a four-year deal worth $34 million at the time but struggled some after landing the big deal. Heading into 2018, the plan with him changed.

Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien decided it would be better to move Jackson to safety and the move has impacted him positively. He’s suddenly seen his effectiveness increase as he’s put together one of the best seasons of his career.

Dallas knows how that can be. They made a similar move this season, moving Byron Jones from safety to cornerback — and he’s become one of the best corners in the league after struggling to play safety.

Maybe looking Jackson could help the Dallas secondary even more. Of course, Jackson isn’t going to come cheap, so Dallas will have to find a way to move some money around if they want to land him and extend the contracts of some of their star players who are due for extensions this season. Then again, that’s going to be the case for just about every player on this list.

Age also has to be a concern with Jackson as he will turn 31 this coming offseason. But with that comes experience and Dallas would love to have a player like this in the back end working alongside either Woods or Heath.
