3. The Saints defense continues their domination

As bad as the Saints offense was in Week 13, their defense made up for it. Against the Cowboys, the Saints offense could hardly get a first down while the defense was a nightmare for Dak Prescott and company. Most notably, the team recovered a fumble, got the pressure on Prescott and generally kept their offense on their toes the entire game.

It’s hard to believe their defensive unit was lackluster at the beginning of the year. I predict the defense will redeem themselves for what transpired in Week 1. They gave up 48 points to the Bucs and failed to get any takeaways. Heading into Week 14, the defense is on the upswing and they’re going to be a nightmare for the Bucs offense.

The Saints usually stick Marshon Lattimore on the offense’s biggest weapon, so no doubt he’ll be up against Mike Evans. Even though I predicted a touchdown for Evans, it’s not going to be easy. Lattimore’s recovered fumble snapped the Cowboys momentum and gave the Saints a chance last week.

Additionally, I predict that Cameron Jordan will have another big day. He was instrumental in stalling Prescott and strip-sacking him at the end of the game. If Brees wouldn’t have thrown an interception, Jordan’s efforts could have won them the game. Either way, the defense has continued to play at a high level and it will be more of the same against the Buccaneers.
