7. Patrick Peterson shuts down Julio Jones

A showdown between Patrick Peterson and Julio Jones is a battle between two of the best at their respective positions. In their very first meeting, Jones torched Peterson. He finished the game with 189 yards on 10 catches. The second time these two met Peterson held Jones to just 35 yards in five catches.

Peterson is a proud corner who has dominated opposing receivers his entire career. In fact, since 2014, no receiver covered by Peterson gained more than 80 yards.

Jones is dominating the league as the leading receiver with 1,429 yards. He’s coming hot off a 100-plus yard performance against the Packers where he scored two touchdowns. Peterson isn’t going to let that happen.

As a matter of fact, the Cardinals have the third-best pass defense in terms of yards surrendered. Over the last three weeks, teams have averaged just 186 yards per game. Unfortunately for Cardinals, Peterson’s efforts won’t result in a victory. Expect the Falcons to dominate the scoreboard while Peterson dominates Jones.

6. Calvin Ridley shines in victory

Peterson will take care of Julio Jones. Matt Ryan will have to look for other options when Jones is blanketed. He’ll likely rely on rookie wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Ridley is itching for a breakout game. The last two weeks, he’s been held to just four catches and 32 yards combined. Against the Cardinals, he’ll have to step up and he will.
