4. Jason Myers, K, New York Jets

Just like with Benardrick McKinney listed above, Jason Myers made the team and has some impressive numbers that do justify a Pro Bowl selection. The 27-year old kicker came to the New York Jets this season after three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He originally tried out for the Seattle Seahawks but lost out on the job as Sebastian Janikowski was chosen over him.

Myers is no stranger to trials though as the former Marist kicker — yes that’s a college — had to go through the Arena Football League before getting his shot with the Jags. He didn’t give up after going through two teams in the AFL in one season and did the same here.

Now after 14 games, Myers is an impressive 31-of-33 kicking on the season. He’s struggled some on extra points as he’s 25-of-28 so far.

While his numbers suggest Pro Bowl, he hasn’t been as good as Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens. Tucker has also missed just two kicks, but he’s 33-of-34 for extra points — his only missed extra point of his career.

Of course, the votes may have been done before Myers missed his two kicks as both came in Week 15 against Houston. Even so, the fact is once the rosters were announced, it was Tucker who was having the best season.
