Three New York Jets – Jamal Adams, Jason Myers and Andre Roberts are all highly deserving of making the 2018 AFC Pro Bowl squad.

The New York Jets finally have some Pro Bowlers to brag about. Jamal Adams, Jason Myers and Andre Roberts are all very well deserving of being named to the 2018 AFC Pro Bowl contingent.

It marks the first time since 2015 that Gang Green had one player or more land on the all-star squad (not including injury replacements). Even though the Jets are mired in a dismal 4-10 season, it’s a positive sign for a franchise that is desperate to turn their fortunes around.

Let’s take a look at each player’s 2018 season in review so far.

Jamal Adams

More from NFL Spin Zone

I wrote 11 months ago that the former first-round draft pick (2017) had all the attributes to be a Pro Bowl player and this season he has not disappointed. The LSU product is one of the finest strong safeties in the NFL. He is tied for first in the league among safeties in sacks (3.5) and forced fumbles (3). He paces safeties in quarterback hits (8) and tackles for loss (9). Adams also ranks in the top five in passes defensed (12) and tackles (94).

The Lewisville, TX native is the premier player on the Jets. He’s a fiery competitor and the emotional leader of the green and white. His coverage skills still need improvement but he’s one of the finest open field tacklers in the league. His intensity level is through the roof. This should be the first of many Pro Bowl berths for the 6-1, 213-pounder.

Jason Myers

The 27-year old veteran was claimed off waivers from Seattle in August and, despite missing two extra points last Saturday against Houston, has enjoyed a superb campaign. Myers has connected on 31 of 33 field goal attempts, including five boots from 55 yards or more. He’s also kicked 53 touchbacks, the fifth-highest total in the NFL. Jets fans know that Myers is New York’s best offensive weapon on some weeks.

Andre Roberts

Signed as a free agent earlier this year, Roberts leads the NFL in punt return average (14.9). The nine-year NFL veteran returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown against the Lions in the season opener and he also galloped 86 yards on a punt return against the Bills in Week 14 to set up another score.

A product of The Citadel, Roberts ranks third in the league in kickoff return average as well (26.8). Gang Green has been aching for a solid special teams performer for a long time now. Roberts is New York’s best ST player since the days of Leon Washington a decade ago.
