3. New York Jets: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama

The New York Jets are yet another team that could use an edge rusher, but with the top two players off the board being at that position, it might be a bit of a reach to give them one here. Moreover, with Leonard Williams having another down season and given the lack of overall talent with the Jets, they must simply take the best player available if they don’t choose to trade down.

If that’s the case, then Quinnen Williams should be their guy. Williams has burst onto the scene in 2018 for Alabama as an immensely disruptive defensive force in every facet of the game. You watch his tape, and it feels like he’s in the backfield making a play on every snap. The Jets need that type of impact player and should be happy with Williams coming to the Big Apple.

4. Oakland Raiders: Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson

To be clear, Clelin Ferrell is not the fourth-best player in this draft class. However, after the Oakland Raiders made the looking-worse-by-the-day Khalil Mack trade right before the start of the regular season, Jon Gruden needs a viable pass-rush threat for the future of this team and, though Ferrell isn’t perfect, he’s a big, old-school edge rusher that Gruden could easily fall in love with.

Ferrell has displayed an impressive pedigree throughout his time at Clemson and has established himself as the premier player on a vaunted defensive front. He’s strong off the edge, but plays with solid explosiveness as well. Why it might be a reach for him at No. 4, he’d instantly be the Raiders’ best pass-rushing threat should they choose to take him.
