4. Todd Bowles

Since the New York Jets were expected to go through another year of rebuilding after finally seeming to find a quarterback to build the franchise around in Sam Darnold, many believed Todd Bowles would receive the benefit of the doubt. But when seeing how this season has turned out for the Jets with only four wins to their name heading into Week 17, Bowles is far from a guarantee to return for the 2019 season.

If anything, now that New York finally has a quarterback in Darnold, the question becomes whether Bowles is the right man to help the former USC star develop or if they would simply be better off with someone else. Just take a look at what took place last weekend when the Jets seemed to be in the perfect position to knock off the Green Bay Packers before falling into overtime, which unfortunately has happened on a few occasions for New York during the regular season.

Bowles has received plenty of opportunities over the years to prove himself worthy of being the head coach of the Jets, only to come up short for the most part each time. With their regular-season finale being on the road against the New England Patriots, don’t expect Bowles and the Jets to end the year on a high note.
