Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks: 3 Bold predictions for Week 17
By Samuel Teets
Backups playing in the fourth quarter
This game isn’t going to be close. The Seahawks already had their divisional upset game and now I don’t believe Carroll will let his squad make the same mistake again. Seattle should run away with this game in a similar fashion to how the Los Angeles Rams did last week when they played the Cardinals.

This year has been a mess for the Cardinals, even taking into account that they started a rookie quarterback most of the season. That’s part of the reason why the team’s head coach, Steve Wilks, is reportedly going to be fired after just one year with the job. The whole situation isn’t ideal, especially since players like Larry Fitzgerald said they want Wilks to return next season.
The Cardinals, despite the presence of stars like Fitzgerald and David Johnson on offense and Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson on defense, are not a very deep or talented team. Wilks can’t be blamed for that, especially after just one year, but the team’s lack of star power and depth should leave the Seahawks with a strong lead going into the final quarter.
Even if the Seahawks don’t poor on a ton of points like they did last week against Patrick Mahomes, the team could still rest a lot of key players towards the end of the game. Josh Rosen and the Cardinals offense have scored the fewest points of any team this season, through 15 games, with just 201. For reference, the next lowest team has 227 points, the Seahawks have scored the sixth most points with 401, and the top team has 530 points.
The Cardinals have only scored 20 or more points in three games this season and have six games with ten or fewer points. The Seahawks won’t have to put up a ton of points to hold a sizable lead against Arizona going into the fourth quarter.
